Web Developer

We are seeking full-time Web Developer to join our Boston engineering team. As a MocoSpace Engineering team member you will specialize in building best of breed products with world-class technologies that bring the MocoSpace experience to millions of people in a highly collaborative environment, anytime, anywhere.  With extremely fast, iterative development cycles you will be able to make an immediate impact on millions of users.

The MocoSpace Engineering team member will use Web 2.0, mobile, and client server technologies to develop, create and implement highly scalable Web based applications using JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS and other technologies.

Duties:

• Design, rapidly prototype, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable web services and games interfaces using HTML5/CSS3 technologies for our mobile platform
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to define product requirements
• Build efficient and reusable mobile abstractions and systems
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks
• Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
• Identify and communicate best practices for mobile front-end engineering

Requirements

• 3+ years of working experience with web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
• Detailed knowledge of XHTML, XHTML-MP, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and cross-platform browser compliance.
• Experience leveraging back-end end services for dynamic user interfaces
• Experience leveraging AJAX, JQuery or Node.js
• Extremely detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation on all devices
• Excellent communication skills as you will interact with clients and team members on a daily basis
• Preference given to candidates who are HTML5 and CSS3 experts
• Unmistakable passion for elegant and intuitive user interfaces
• Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for UI components
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
• Knowledge of Java/JSP a plus.

Reporting Engineer

We are seeking a full-time Reporting Engineer to join our Boston engineering team. The Reporting Engineer is responsible for hands-on design and development of all JnJ Mobile / MocoSpace internal reports and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

• Optimization of MocoSpace reporting tools
• Design, develop and maintain reports and visualizations according to specifications from the product management and executive teams. This includes screen and report layouts and processing logic.
• Work closely with MocoSpace User Experience (UX) staff for report design
• Suggest report types based on understanding of MocoSpace products data models
• Provide recommendations on possible 3rd party reporting tools that would take our ability to mine data to the next level
• Follow the Software Development Life Cycle, when appropriate, to ensure all software is designed and developed in a controlled, validated environment
• Work with Product Management and customers to define requirements
• Participate in developing report specifications, as needed
• Provide scheduled updates to manager(s)
• Gain thorough understanding of MocoSpace products and infrastructure that integrate with and/or impact Reporting
• Provide advice and guidance to those less experienced with the reporting infrastructure and reporting tools

Requirements:

• Four-year college degree preferably in computer science, IS or life sciences
• Prior experience implementing business intelligence, reporting or data warehouse solutions:
• Strong prior experience designing complex reports and visualizations
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL, as well as experience with query tuning and optimization
• Proven track record of delivery
• Good verbal and written skills
• Ability to produce quality software under tight time constraints
• 3+ Years experience in software development environment with Java, PHP, JavaScript or other Web and/or enterprise programming languages

Preferred:

• Experience working in website/web service based environments

Senior Java Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, rapidly prototype, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable web services and games using Java, JavaScript and HTML5 technologies for our mobile platform
• Enforce code quality through test driven development
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to define product requirements and scope new features and components
• Create robust high-volume production applications and develop prototypes.
• Aggressively collect, analyze, and act on data about product performance

Requirements

• 2 to 10+ years of working experience with Java and Web technologies
• Passion for software and Web development and design
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Expert Java/J2EE knowledge (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, JMS, Web Services)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Experience with Linux and mobile development on Android and/or iPhone a plus

Game Designer

We are looking for an experienced and creative game designer to create games for our mobile social network. You will apply your insight into social and casual game mechanics and fun gameplay to create addictive genre-crossing titles with strong viral components. Qualified candidates are fluent in game design processes, are passionate about games and are team players.

Responsibilities

• Create and adapt designs for compelling mobile social and casual multiplayer games.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and design for new gaming projects.
• Work with the creative and engineering teams throughout the development and lifecycle of a game.
• Analyze key data and metrics and adapt game accordingly.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional game design experience.
• Thorough knowledge of social and casual game mechanics and design theories.
• Understanding of UI design and flow; proven ability to deliver frictionless UI experiences.
• Passionate game player with in-depth knowledge of current social and casual game titles.
• Knowledge and experience with mobile gaming a plus.
• Degree or comparable experience in Human Computer Interaction, Game Design, or related field preferred.
• Previous startup experience preferred.

Director of Marketing

MocoSpace is seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing to help develop integrated campaigns to reach a young, multicultural mobile consumer base. The Director of Marketing is responsible for a wide array of activities that range from managing marketing campaigns to helping to coordinate and schedule various department promotions and interactions with the mobile social community. The desirable candidate must have the knowledge and ability to balance multicultural marketing savvy with attention to detail, follow up and execution on a multiple project level. The role reports into the VP of Marketing & Music.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior management to devise and implement innovative, attainable and successful campaigns as well as acting as a central co-ordination point for projects from their initial conception through release date.
• Create, develop and implement traditional, digital and event-driven marketing plans.
• Interpret both primary and secondary consumer research and translate into effective marketing programs.
• Continually evaluate competitors and industry trends.

Requirements

• Must have at least 6 years Marketing experience including campaign creation and execution.
• Must have experience marketing to a multicultural audience (Hispanic and African-American).
• Must be knowledgeable in the social media and digital marketing space; mobile experience a big plus .
• Experience in event and / or entertainment marketing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end and meet deadlines through excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
